samelton68 64 Posted August 11, 2015 Awesome, I get so tired of people doing #4, 7, & how soon can I have alcohol. I am like what? I never plan to let any of those things cross my lips again.

Chelsea Dagradi 2 Posted August 14, 2015 This was a great read. This article answers a lot of questions people have and I believe EVERYONE should read this before getting the surgery. It is so brutally honest and I think it is what people need to hear.
Dajones 46 Posted August 14, 2015 My doctor is former military and very strict. He was ultra-conservative about my care. I have a friend that had the exact same surgery as me, a month later. Her doctor was not strict at all. A week post-op, she was eating cream of potato Soup. She showed me her doctors orders and it said nothing about Clear liquids then creamed liquids, then pureed foods, etc... She expected the surgery to be a magical procedure where she would instantly lose weight without modifying her diet and not exercising. As a result, I'm down 105 pounds and have met my goal weight. She's lost 35 pounds and blames in on her fibromyalgia, bad back, bad knee, blah, blah, blah....

It really is a travesty that some people get so little information from their surgical teams about post-op diet and activity. I personally would take it upon myself to research that stuff if I hadn't been given it, but I know a lot of people won't do that.
