Pinkgirl1234 761 Posted August 11, 2015 I am disgusted with this band.Went to see a new surgeon and am scheduled for a Barium/X-ray to see if the band has slipped or eroded. He only performs 2 stage procedures.Band removal then a waiting period of 3 months....needless to say I ain't jumping for joy over the wait.Without this awful band I will become the Goodyear Blimp!!It got me thinking,Sleeve or Bypass?Pros and cons.He stated that the Sleeve is irreversible and that the Bypass is complex but more can be done if need be.In essence they are both complex.i understand that I am the driver of my own success but I can't fail again. What are the long term success of the sleeve vs band?Need testimonials and thoughts regarding both procedures. twinhappy 79 Posted August 11, 2015 I love my sleeve. I am 6 months out and I have lost 88 pounds. I followed my doctors special diet requirements for the first 3 months and I have had zero issues. I can eat anything I want and my stomach can handle it. That being said, I still make good choices because I don't want to gain any weight back. No bad carbs, no sweets, no junk, no fast food, etc. I basically just have a smaller stomach than I did before so I can put so much less in it. Also, my cravings have been curbed tremendously. I have heard too many horror stories from bypass patients. Good luck!
