lvlpar 11 Posted August 10, 2015 I'm 3 1/2 weeks post op and I'm having issues with crushing my Vitamins and chasing them with Water or even putting them in applesauce. I just can't do the taste. Anyone using Gummi vitamins and if so are they working for you and if so what brand has worked the best. Thanks in advance.
JamieLogical 8,713 Posted August 10, 2015 I was allowed to swallow pills at 7 days post-op. How long have you been instructed to keep crushing your pills?
Twinmomma422 54 Posted August 10, 2015 I'm still preop but my dr suggested chewable adult Vitamins. I take the Centrum orange. Not sure if that will help but that's what I'm doing now
newbeginnings1965 48 Posted August 10, 2015 My NUT said that gummies are no good. I use adult chewables ftom cvs, their brand
NaomiAus 104 Posted August 10, 2015 Not 100% sure but I think the reason that gummy vitamins are not recommended is because they are mostly children's Vitamins so they don't have the required amounts of vitamins and minerals in them. But there are a few adult Gummy vitamins, one I know of is Natures Way, not sure if it's an Australian brand though.
merry1126 42 Posted August 10, 2015 Most gummy vitamins adult or children lack a lot minerals. I used adult Centrum chewables or two childrens complete chewables.
lvlpar 11 Posted August 11, 2015 JamieLogical I've been instructed to crush them indefinitely if I opt not to do the chewables. I've tried a sample my NUT gave and couldn't get them down. Thanks for the info I will look for some adult chewables that you all have suggested.
JamieLogical 8,713 Posted August 11, 2015 JamieLogical I've been instructed to crush them indefinitely What?!?! That seems completely crazy for a sleeve patient. I've never heard of such a thing. Not that I'd advise you to go against your surgeon's plan, that just seems incredibly extreme.

MrsRoboto 370 Posted August 13, 2015 I was having the same problem. My NUT told me today I can take double dose or of flinstone Vitamins. So, 4 a day. They are small and taste great. Did your NUT tell you to take 4? Because a regular dose is just one. I take 2 Flintstones a day. If you compare the nutritional info of two Flintstones to other Multivitamins they're very similar. Four is probably too many. You might want to double check just to make sure you're not overdoing it.
