Your life will change forever, it is normal to be nervous, scared, excited, worried, and second guess yourself. But don't let those nerves change your mind. Almost every person I have ever asked said they didn't regret a think and would do it all over again in a heartbeat. I am right there with you and going to have surgery soon. It's hard to imagine life any different than we are used to so it kinda tends to take over our thoughts.

Nerves are normal, it would be odd if we didn't have them at all. I feel it's also excitement that it's really going to happen, that we are on the journey to a healthier life. It's all good !! :D

Me too - I'm getting mine of 25 August. During the day I just feel excited and can't wait to get on with it, but once I'm in bed I start to freak out a bit. It's a good job I am busy over the next couple of weeks or I would be really over thinking it all. I also keep clicking on some rather less than positive posts, which isn't helping!

Omg yes lately I read a lot of negativity here there is always someone negative and mentally unstable but other than that everyone else is very helpful and supportive and I am happy we have other to share our journey with:)

Nerves are normal, it is a major surgery and a major change. Excitement is totally normal, you are making a change to be much healthier! Soon the excitement will be over the pounds coming off and all the things you will be able to do that you haven't in a long time. Wishing all of you smooth surgeries and great successes! Post here often the support is amazing!

@@ylluz Yep, one week to go for us! I too had a bit of cold feet over this weekend, but I just reminded myself of everything that I am looking forward to that I will be able to achieve sooner, rather than later, with this surgery. You got this!!!

@@TXTinana I felt exactly the same way over the weekend. I even gave my husband the " If something happens to me" speech ... Ugh ... We are almost there !!

@@shellyd67 I haven't had that speech just yet with my husband, I guess because I don't really want to think about all that. About a month ago, when he gave in to the fact that he will not be able to be there, he gave me loooooong hug and with tears in his eyes told me to make sure I come back. When I think about that moment I am not sure how to bring myself to have that conversation with him.

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
