Grocery shopping

Went to the grocery store yesterday and was amazed at all the aisles I skipped! Went right past the chips, Cookies, soda and prepackaged meal aisles. What a change in shopping habits and a much lower bill too. I feel a little guilty not buying treats for the rest of my family but they don't really need the junk food anyway.

Grocery shopping is so much faster now. I go around the perimeter of the store- just like all the health food shows have been telling me to do for years!

It's great to have the family eating healthy with you. I like that the food I buy is fresh, not packaged and still tastes great. Finding wonderful new recipes and foods to try. I have found cooking a joy again.

Since my surgery, my husband has decided that he doesn't need the carbs either. He's right, he's mildly diabetic and he doesn't need the carbs and since he does the grocery shopping, he's not even buying bread or potatoes and stuff. Only problem is he's dropping weight faster than I am, lol.

Yes my grocery bill is cut in half ... I love it the most expensive item in the cart was the cream Soups
