ANewMe83 21 Posted August 9, 2015 Hello all, I have a question. I am five days post-op, but I wanted to know if I can eat mashed potatoes if I make it very creamy with skim milk. If pudding is allowed, what about mashed potatoes. Thanks
Daisee68 2,493 Posted August 9, 2015 Not likely. What does your food plan say. If it isn't on there, don't eat it. Sorry. I know it's tough but you just have to get through it. Real food is coming soon!
laguerr13 993 Posted August 9, 2015 Potatoes are starchy and not allowed on mine, but sugar free pudding is
megmom757 113 Posted August 9, 2015 (edited) I'm two months out and still not allowed potatoes. I ate a lot of fat free refried Beans after a couple weeks out. Edited August 9, 2015 by megmom757

Djmohr 6,965 Posted August 9, 2015 A lot of people do eat them in the puréed stage but you have to remember that the carbohydrates in them can actually stall your progress. Also because you can only eat a tiny amount of food it almost ensures you will not get your Protein in that day. I am now 10 months post op and very occasionally I will have a tiny portion. Maybe every couple of weeks. So, they are not lost to you forever. I find even now, I do not even cook starches with my family meals unless it is a special meal. I will cook a Protein and serve it with either two vegetables or a vegetable and a salad. On occasion they request something that they grew up with so I will make it. aelovelady 243 Posted August 13, 2015 If you want my opinion you should follow your plan, if you do you are guaranteed success. You don't want to jeopardize that, or your health.
