Marijuana Use After Surgery

Recommended Posts

Go with the Water pipe! The much cooler smoke is far less likely to make you cough. Even seasoned partakers can draw too much hot sometimes.

obviously Australia is full of ridiculous "pot-heads", because there are so many of you on here. The only reason any of you are so upset about my opinions, is because you are part of the problem. I was just voicing my opinion about drugs, (BTW if you had paid more attention, you would have read that I said alcohol was worse than marijuana), and voicing opinions is what everyone is doing on here. You don't need to get so upset because being overweight is the least of your problems!

I don't think that I'm better than you, but you obviously have more problems than I do. I don't appreciate being compared to a "druggie" even IF pot is the only drug of choice. Not everyone is doing it!

wow, so much tension... Just a statement here, the only people I have ever met that "need" pot are people that are trying to balance the effects of other drugs like meth...

Where do you get off insulting Australian's, no offence to all the other people in this forum, but I only found 2 aussies the rest where american. You are just getting personal now and very offensive. Please just go away into another forum and leave us all alone you clearly don't agree with anything here so no-one really care's what you have to say.

Heehee...."the rage". That cracked me up. BTW, Y'all ever get the feeling that the more angry people on this thread could benefit from a lil' something to calm down?

I think it is time to admit that there are other additions going on in here right now, some are addicted to drugs, alcohol, food etc. but no one has mentioned the more dangerous addiction which is the addiction to chaos,

the addiction to always cause a scene, complain, whine, talk louder and badder than the rest. Insult the rest of the world so ONE can feel better. Yes people this is an addiction as well, it is deep seeded and there is very little help except to recognize and walk away. Don't waste your breath, it does no good. There is no reasoning, just turn and walk away and the problem will disappear as if it never where here. After that....Toke on fellow smokers!!

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
