Hi everyone! Found this app and already posted a question on here and got many answers within an hour! So excited to be a part of this wonderful support system.

As for my journey, I had my consultation yesterday and my psych evaluation next Friday! Hoping to have the surgery beginning of November. Anyone else had WLS when they were in their 20's-30's?

Hello! I'm new as well. I'm 23, and my RNY is just a little over a week away. I can barely contain my excitement! I have yet to really explore this place or make any friends but I can already tell it's a pretty invaluable resource. Feel free to message me anytime if you'd like someone to talk to! :)

I'm also 28 and working to get approved for WLS. Already went to the consultation, and the psych evaluation and now just doing my 6 months of dr supervised weight loss.

Hey, y'all! I'm also just beginning the process! I am 27 years old. I have a 3 yr old son and I am a Phlebotomist. (I draw blood!) I have been to the Seminar, Education class, 1st Dr visit, and my Psych Evaluation is scheduled for September 3rd. I hopefully, will not have to do a Dr supervised diet! I'm so excited to finally be on the path to doing something for myself, for a change! :D Good luck, y'all!

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
