What to Wear After Surgery

Recommended Posts

Aloha All :help:

This kind of a guy question but any advise male or female would be helpfull.

My surgery is set for July 11, in Honolulu with Dr. Fowler. And my question is what to wear to fly home? I live on Kauai and I just don't know how sore I will/might be and if regular shorts would work or maybe something like sweat pants or gym shorts? Nex the gym shorts my G's would hang out (you'll only understand the G's thing if your a Mormon). I just don't want to fly home using a Lava-Lava (wrap) or a hospital gown with all my stuff showing. Please let me know what your thinking.

You will be most comfortable in a pair of sweat pants that aren't snug around the middle. Also, take along a shirt to put on after surgery that isn't your Sunday best. You might still be bleeding a bit from the incisions, and you don't want it all over your favorite shirt! Oh, also, if you have a pair of shoes that you can slip on, that would be best, too. You don't want to have to be bending over to tie your shoes for a few days (or several, in my case) after surgery, and it's humiliating to have to have someone else tie them for you...

One week and one day to go! Good luck and and here's to wishing you a short and uneventful recovery!

BTW, what, exactly is Mahalo? And what else would be good to know for a vacation in Hawaii? I WILL be vacationing there someday, hopefully SOON!!

Mahalo for your input, Mahalo means Thank You and what would be good to know when you come to Hawaii for Vacation

1. NO Black socks with sandles and shorts

2. Find a map and try and learn the name of where your'll be

3. HAWAII IS A STATE so don't use the phrase "back in the States"

4. Bring lots of Money

5. Don't leave anything in the car that you don't want stolen

HI Dave;

I laughed when I read your post about your "G's" I too am concerned about what to wear on the trip home from the clinic (2 hour drive) with hubby at the wheel.

My surg date is the SAME as yours, July 11th @ 12 o'clock Noon!!! I am so excited , we should stay in touch for suggestions/support/comisering post op.

A couple of the gals suggested NO bra - whoo-hoo NOT an options LOL

so I guess it'll be something loose... a Bahama Mama dress that drops from the shoulders I think and flip flops that I can slip in and out of easily..

All the best and good luck with your flight home :biggrin1:

Hi, I’m new here. I’m currently on the liver shrinking diet. So far so good, but I have to say I haven’t found a protein shake I like. Anyone have any suggestions please? My surgery date is September 17th.

Fairlife Core are by far the best. They taste just as they are - chocolate milk. You can either get the 26 grams or the 42 grams (harder to find and more expensive). For straight protein look at Bulksuppliments.com ..they have really good whey proteins and offer auto ship plus they test for purity. No taste or smell...

Fairlife has strawberry, vanilla and of course chocolate. No more calories than other protein drinks. Stay away from Premiere, they're dealing with lawsuits due to not being honest about protein content.
