I miss nothing. I eat what I like in small quantities and am able to maintain my weight loss now. Best gift EVER!

Just curious what people are missing. For me it's homemade chili with some saltines crushed up in it. Someone at work had some the other day and it smelled so good lol

You should be able to eat chili, just in a limited quantities. I make it all the time with ground chicken and a lot of different brand for Protein.

I miss shrimp parmigiana,

@@Inner Surfer Girl

Dill pickles, green olives and jalepeno peppers - all together in a bowl. Big Papa pickles. Drinking pickle juice lol. Salt freak. Weird I know.

I don't eat a large amount but I have dill pickles, olives, and jalapeños all the time.

Unfortunately the smallest amount triggers major Fluid retention.

I lost 80lbs in 5 months and I pretty much eat anything in small amounts, but I do miss ice cream and alcoholic drinks, even a glass of wine will hit me fast. I know what I can eat and still lose and feel good: like 6 buffalo wings is it. I just picture that my stomach is the size of a banana and only eat that amount. It's been working for me.

I totally miss fried chicken. There is a Popeyes chicken two blocks from me. I smell the chicken all the time. All I think of is all the grease and it turns me off. I miss donuts and pancakes and a cold Pepsi. Although I had one waffle for Breakfast the other day light butter and very little lite surgery. It was good and I had no problems. Basically the thing is portion size. None of us is perfect. We will all eat food that we shouldn't occasionally and that's ok.

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
