What's your exercise routine

Recommended Posts

Hey Sleevers,

This is my very first post!!!!! I'm just curious to see what everyone's exercise routine is like?

How many days a week do you do it?

How long do you exercise?

What does your exercise consist of?

I'm 5 months Post op- (Pre) 325 (Surgery) 295 (Now) 232

I try to exercise at least 5-6 times a week

I do about an hour- hour and half of cardio and the rest is weight lifting, which is about an hour long

Can't wait to hear from you all!

I'm only three weeks post op so I, still walking. I walk about 3-4 miles six times a week. My pace is improving - the first week after surgery I was doing a couple of miles at a 20 min/mile pace. I am now around 16 min/ mile. Small victories!

For the first year post-op I worked out a few hours a day. I ran in the mornings for about 3 miles and then I did kickboxing and mma class at night most days. I had plastic surgery at a year post-op which forced me to take some time off from the gym and made me kind of lazy. For the last year I have alternated between powerwalking during recovery from plastic surgeries and running/going to the gym during the few weeks I wasn't in recovery (I had 3 plastics procedures). I am now done with plastics (Halleluia!) and I have retained my laziness. Some days I go to the gym and do the elliptical for an hour, some days I go for a 45 minute run, some days I don't do a darn thing.

Ready the few replies here makes me feel like I need to step it up

During a typical week I walk at work during lunch. There is a 1.65 mile loop that has some good elevation to it. The only down side is I am walking in my work clothes (suit pants, dress shirt, tie). I will do this at least 3 or 4 days (I work from home on Monday). There is also a 3 mile loop I have starting doing. However with weather in the mid 80s at lunch I am going to reserve that for "casual Friday".

Then in the evening I will go to 24 Hour and do another 30 to 40 min of intense caedio. A few nights I will only so 15 min of cardio as a warm up then an hour of weights. I do this routine 5 nights a week. The other 2 days I am active, but want my body to rest and recover.

I walk almost every day 5-6 times a week, between 30 and 40 minutes a day. I know I should do resistance training ,but not sure where to start.

I go to the gym at least 3x a week and while I am there I go 2 miles on treadmill(about 30 mins) I also use the bike and go 4 miles(about 20 mins) then I was doing just leg strengthening(about 15-20 mins). I had my 2 month check up yesterday and finally got released to do whatever I wanted so now I will be stepping it up on my tummy and arms!! When I am not at the gym I have a treadmill and go for about 45 mins or 3 miles. I am losing about half a pound a day doing this and after about 10-15 pounds I will stall for a week or two and then I really kick my butt at the gym and do about 10 miles because I am frustrated and I break my stall.

I take classes at the gym 4x a week, an hour each. I usually end up doing cardio for 20 minutes before the classes. I do zumba or go for a walk/jog a couple other days a week as well. I'm trying to get into running, but haven't really gotten into it yet. I'm hoping as I continue to lose weight and it gets easier I will like it more. Right now running hurts me knees alot

I am new here too. I am one week out from surgery. I am wondering at what point did your docs allow you to start exercising again? I have been walking my neighborhood several times a day, but not sure when and how much to increase.

I started walking in the hospital. An hour after surgery. I walk three times a day. One mile each time. Sometimes I go for a fourth walk if I feel up to it in the evening.

Walking is a great start. We have to do it anyways to get anywhere right? Try small 5 minute walks several times a day and then keep adding minutes for a goal of 30 mins a day. Once you reach that goal, you can add more minutes, incline if on treadmill or small hills if outside, small hand weights. Once you reach those, add in different exercises to keep things fun. I do Zumba and love it. I also do Kinect (similar to Wi), biking, dancing, hiking etc. My doc told me walking to start then once my incisions healed, I could start adding more. Listen to your body.

Hi everyone! I’m brand new here. I just went through all my pre-op requirements per my insurance company and now everything has been submitted and I’m just waiting for final approval and my surgery date. I’ve been doing research, watching YouTube videos, TikTok’s, ect.. trying to prepare my mind and what to expect so I’ll be ready for the surgery. I was so sure and so set and so ready and excited. However, now that I’ve done everything & it’s almost here, I am sooooooo scared! I know why I want it bc I’ve tried everything and I just don’t feel like I can lose weight by myself. I’m tired of being overweight my entire life. I’m miserable, but I keep psyching myself out afraid of GERD bc I know how that can be and I don’t want to have to get a bypass after already gaining the courage to even get VSG. I’m scared of complications like I’mgoing to regret doing it and be depressed that I didn’t just be more disciplined and try again to lose the weight on my own even sitting here typing this knowing in my mind i just can’t and don’t possess the discipline. I’m also afraid I won’t be able to handle the restrictions of the sleeve. What do I eat? I don’t know how to eat healthy really and don’t enjoy healthy food. I don’t know how to do this! I feel so defeated!Someone tell me they felt anything similar to this or am I not ready? I thought I was. I am so tired of being sick and tired and so tired of myself and so tired of being stuck and stuck in this body and somebody different on the outside from what I feel inside. I just want to ball up and cry.

The 14th was my day. I am home and recovery is going pretty smooth. They even let me walk out of the hospital. Picture of me in recovery curtesy of my boyfriend lol.
