<p>It's way cool. someone in the Shrinking Violets thread had mentioned going to a Zumba class and I didn't know what the heck it was! So I looked it up and found out that the gym that I belong to offers it twice a week!!! the instructor is trained by Zumba, but the gym calls it "Latin Impact" for some reason. I love it. Its one of those classes that you're laughing or at least smiling throughout the whole thing. And believe me, I was sweating my bootie off! Well, almost! :phanvan

Wow! This looks so fun!!! Maybe once I get down a little, I can become an instructor here in my town...I'm gonna attend one close to me and see what it's all about.

Yeah, it's a hoot! I used to play in my 20's and always loved it. DH and I play (he's 61) but only for about 20-30 minutes before it kicks our butts. But it sure gets the heart rate up!

I played a game of basketball the other night and that was awesome fun, the first game I've ever played, I grew up playing netball.

It was awesome cardio, very high intensity. But I was VERY afraid of an injury, taking up basketball at 40 is a bit risky, lol. I'd hate to do a knee and not be able to run.

I was only filling in though, so this wont be a regular thing.

I try to use the elliptical machine for about 25-30 mins. After that, I lift various weights. I try to shuffle different parts of the body. One day back and legs, or chest and arms, or shoulders. It has allowed me to define my body better, and also to see greater results.

When I worked out in the past, I would gain weight, but it was due to muscle, and it discouraged me. Eventually, it lead to me gaining all the weight I had lost back again.

Now, I know for a fact, through body fat monitoring, and also through the use of my friend (the band) that I am in fact gaining muscle and not fat. This has allowed me to attend the gym more often, and to see better results in my weight loss.

The gym is your friend, it will never let you down.

Exercise videos are my favorites. It isn't weather dependent and I can spice it up with new titles when I get bored with what I have. Just picked up some latin dancing workouts, so I am excited to give those a try.

try doing a posting trot for 20 minutes on a huge warmblood. in no time at all you will have the best thighs and ass. plus it is awesome cardio. trust me i know. after 30 minutes of hard riding and jumping, im sweating , panting and ready for the shower. my legs are rocks. i also get good core muscle conditioning and my upper back is getting very strong. hard work but never boring. it beats the usual gym routine any day.

The elliptical machine is my absolute favorite. I do it everything and I try to increase my time, level, and incline every week or 2. I have a bad knee and it really helps.

My gym also has a nice indoor track and I use that a lot too..I can't wait until I can run it.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!

Hi everyone! I’m brand new here. I just went through all my pre-op requirements per my insurance company and now everything has been submitted and I’m just waiting for final approval and my surgery date. I’ve been doing research, watching YouTube videos, TikTok’s, ect.. trying to prepare my mind and what to expect so I’ll be ready for the surgery. I was so sure and so set and so ready and excited. However, now that I’ve done everything & it’s almost here, I am sooooooo scared! I know why I want it bc I’ve tried everything and I just don’t feel like I can lose weight by myself. I’m tired of being overweight my entire life. I’m miserable, but I keep psyching myself out afraid of GERD bc I know how that can be and I don’t want to have to get a bypass after already gaining the courage to even get VSG. I’m scared of complications like I’mgoing to regret doing it and be depressed that I didn’t just be more disciplined and try again to lose the weight on my own even sitting here typing this knowing in my mind i just can’t and don’t possess the discipline. I’m also afraid I won’t be able to handle the restrictions of the sleeve. What do I eat? I don’t know how to eat healthy really and don’t enjoy healthy food. I don’t know how to do this! I feel so defeated!Someone tell me they felt anything similar to this or am I not ready? I thought I was. I am so tired of being sick and tired and so tired of myself and so tired of being stuck and stuck in this body and somebody different on the outside from what I feel inside. I just want to ball up and cry.

Am feeling this right now. My surgery date is 4/1. Sign the consent tomorrow. I feel like I overloaded myself with too much info, too many opinions. Got to the point where I was wondering if I should do this. Then I thought of my reasons for taking this step and that settled my nerves. Still get moments of doubt but am striving forward. Am just going to follow my book from the surgeon. Joined this because I was told by my dietician that I should do this for support
