honeybunz 139 Posted August 5, 2015 I hated Peanut Butter prior to surgery but now I love it! I try not to eat it often tho since it's so high in calories Helps to have PB2 around.
Inner Surfer Girl 12,015 Posted August 5, 2015 I started having Peanut Butter during my soft phase. I had PB2 added to pudding during my full liquid phase.
momfromjersey22 403 Posted August 5, 2015 I use PB2
wannaBthinsoon 1,634 Posted August 5, 2015 I actually like the taste of PB2 better than Jiff or Skippy!
VSGAnn2014 12,992 Posted August 5, 2015 I love Peanut Butter. But it's a huge trigger food for me. And it's enormously high-calorie. Almost 100 cals / tablespoon. And ... and ... and ... the amount my eyes think a tablespoon of Peanut Butter is is really almost 3 tablespoons! (sigh)
momfromjersey22 403 Posted August 5, 2015 @VSGAnn2014...you should try PB2, only 45 calories for 2 tbsp and 1g sugar
ctsang 10 Posted August 5, 2015 I with you that Peanut Butter is trigger, I like the PB2 with my Protein Shakes and smoothies. My husband would hide it for me!
Bufflehead 6,358 Posted August 6, 2015 I was allowed Peanut Butter on purees, which for me was four weeks post-op. However, the peanut butter had to be weighed by the gram, and mo more than 15 grams per day. People are really bad at measuring peanut butter by volume, and it so high calorie, you can really mess up your weight loss if you get that wrong. Weighing it is the way to go. LisaPunkinHead 187 Posted August 6, 2015 I can have Peanut Butter, but I have only had it a couple of times since surgery. It's one of those food that my taster has changed for, so I don't like it nearly as much as before surgery (it was my absolute favorite food before). Don't miss it all that much. mommajay5 38 Posted August 8, 2015 I use Nutty by Nature Peanut Butter 2 tbsp has 200cal 3 grams sugar and 14 grams Protein. They have different flavors like cookie dough & brownie batter.
jess9395 5,449 Posted August 8, 2015 I hated Peanut Butter prior to surgery but now I love it! I try not to eat it often tho since it's so high in calories Helps to have PB2 around. Me too!!! How weird is that? Pre op the closest I got was a Reese's PB cup! Now I use Laura Scudders brand, nothing but nuts and a bit of salt.
agwj71 45 Posted August 8, 2015 I LOVE Scudders. I have never tried the PB2... How exactly do you use it and is it better to eat after the surgery than regular Peanut Butter?
Bufflehead 6,358 Posted August 8, 2015 @@agwj71 PB2 is generally a better option because it is so much lower calorie. I stir it into yogurt and cottage cheese, and add it to Protein Shakes. You can also stir it into hot Cereal if you eat that sort of thing (I don't do grains).
