Another... Who knew?!?

Recommended Posts

After successfully negotiating Phase1, and implementing phase 2.... My surgeon said I could start working in pureed meats/veggies in prep for phase 3 this friday.... Woohoo

Who knew that a jar of baby food (phase 2) HAM and sweet potatoes would take 30 minutes to eat, and taste like a FEAST!!

:)

Ick! Glad my post-op plan didn't include baby food! But glad you are doing well and moving onto your next phase. Stick to your plan and you will be eating two to three bites of solid food in no time! :P

To each their own, I'm glad I researched my mush menu before surgery and avoided baby food jars. ;-) But take your time and learn your body's new signals about fullness. Respect the sleeve.

I appreciate the simplicity.... One jar, 2oz. Protein.... At this point in the game.... KISS. I don't want to subconsciously undermine my goal!! :)

@@mmyers1962 Well, if you get bored of baby food, this site has some great, easy recipes and ideas for the pureed stage. It made my pureed stage pretty tolerable!

Just been waiting until time for my consult with my bariatric surgeon. It's scheduled for Jan 9th. Turns out I won't actually be seeing him. Apparently it'll be with his P.A.             Not sure what to expect. I thought this is where the surgeon would discuss the best surgery option for me. For years I had my heart set on the sleeve, but I've read so many people have issues with reflux - even if they've never had it before - that they've had to be revised to the bypass. I already deal with GERD & take 40 mg of Omeprazole daily, so I started studying about bypass and honestly, it seems like it might be the better choice for me. How can we discuss surgery options if the surgeon is not there?
What happened at your first consult? Trying to get an idea of what to expect, or maybe I should say, what NOT to expect.

I would like to know what questions you wish you had asked prior to your duodenal switch surgery?
