TexasGirl86 37 Posted August 4, 2015 Hey everyone, I'm only 5 weeks post-op, but I keep reading discussions where people bring up the hairloss (I guess around month 3).... I'm really obsessed with my hair- its one of the few things I'm actually concerned with in regards to my appearance. Its always been there for me (like even if this is wrong, at least I have good hair) Is there anyway I can mitigate the hair loss? Extra Protein, Vitamins, anything? I'm scare for my poor hair
glitterpockets 85 Posted August 4, 2015 Biotin is supposed to help...whether it does or doesn't idk yet (I'm pre op). Honestly I'm concerned badly with it but I'm thinking about it like this....hair will shed AND grow back and I have thick hair so hopefully its not too noticeable. Loose skin is a bigger worry of mine lol.
Elode 8,093 Posted August 4, 2015 @@TexasGirl86 Maybe you will be one of the lucky ones? I tried everything 10,000mg of Biotin (even before surgery) I got all my Protein in within the first two weeks, took all my Vitamins, only washed my hair every other day ect... Unfortunately none of that did any good. It still came out but on the bright side I just cut it off and I love it! It's soooo much better than having hair sticking to me! I know it sounds dramatic but it grows back and it's really worth it once the weight comes off. It's like having a baby, it hurts but once you see the results It won't even matter
raec81 18 Posted August 5, 2015 Sadly I'm now going through those. I have natural curly hair so I don't want to cut it but I may have to soon. It's so bad I'm always picking hair off my shirts.
