carebear42 82 Posted August 4, 2015 Hello! My gastric bypass was exactly 2 months ago on June 3rd. I have been doing well, sticking to my diet and taking my Vitamins. Last night (morning) about 2am I woke up feeling like I was seconds away from throwing up. This has never happened to me before so I was curious if anyone else has had this happen. I have almost thrown up twice due to eating too fast but have managed to keep everything down so far. I ate dinner around 5:30ish with nothing after that so why 2am would this happen? lexiemustang 268 Posted August 4, 2015 Did you feel gassy or out of sorts at all? Im about two months out also and i had nausea, some vomiting, and a gassy feeling in the middle of the night. Went to the ER and apparently i have a sludgy gallbladder.
James Marusek 5,244 Posted August 4, 2015 When I eat a meal just before bedtime, I find that the digestive system does't work well. The meal sits heavy in my stomach and I wake up wanting to vomit. Apparently vertical is better than horizontal. So I get up in the middle of the night and read my emails or watch TV for a couple hours until the feeling goes away. Anyways I try and make it a point to not eat immediately before bedtime. I have to give it a couple hours to settle.
carebear42 82 Posted August 4, 2015 My last meal was at 5:30 and I didn't eat anything after that. That's what I thought was kinda weird. I wasn't feeling weird or anything either. Maybe it was just a random thing. It hasn't happened again but I will call the doc if it does.
James Marusek 5,244 Posted August 4, 2015 Well if it is a one-time thing, probably not to worry.
