Weight goal keeps dropping

Recommended Posts

My weight goal keeps moving down. When is enough enough!

I am addicted to seeing the scale continue to drop and I can't seem to reach a point I feel okay with maintaining.

I'm 5'6 at 125.

Anyone else dealing with this?post-235696-14386633290792_thumb.jpg

As long as you protect your health and vitality, you can shoot for any weight that makes you feel good. Listen to your body (and your doctor).

Ps. You look fabulous.

I'm not trying to rub anything in. I'm struggling hugely with this. I am becoming basically anorexic on top of having a stricture that makes me vomit all day I cant mentally deal with stopping my weight loss.

I'm now at 123 pounds and I'm officially under the weight my doctor wants me at (135) and if I keep losing past 115 I'll be in dangerous territory if I'm not already.

I have extreme anxiety about gaining weight and I don't feel comfortable except seeing the scale move downward and my weight goal just keeps dropping. I know I have to end this and maintain but it feels so scary and overwhelming to eat.

I was hoping someone else on here could relate to what I'm going through. There is such a thing as losing too much weight. I'm beginning to look sickly.

What are you afraid of??

Dont be afraid to eat, you have a tool now

If you gain you know the way back, just stop there and start to maintain like you doctor adviced you before you became sick and regret being anything but healthy.

Good luck.

You look perfect. Trust us when we say that! I know it is hard to see what others see. We are our own worst critics. You've done a fantastic job. If you are experiencing anxiety please speak with a psychologist about it. Hugs

I'm sure there are many struggling with the same thing you are. Talk to your doctor, find some help, get some therapy.

Something all of us struggle with is loving ourselves for who we are, and that struggle doesn't go away with the weight loss.

You look wonderful, for what it's worth!

Just been waiting until time for my consult with my bariatric surgeon. It's scheduled for Jan 9th. Turns out I won't actually be seeing him. Apparently it'll be with his P.A.             Not sure what to expect. I thought this is where the surgeon would discuss the best surgery option for me. For years I had my heart set on the sleeve, but I've read so many people have issues with reflux - even if they've never had it before - that they've had to be revised to the bypass. I already deal with GERD & take 40 mg of Omeprazole daily, so I started studying about bypass and honestly, it seems like it might be the better choice for me. How can we discuss surgery options if the surgeon is not there?
What happened at your first consult? Trying to get an idea of what to expect, or maybe I should say, what NOT to expect.

I would like to know what questions you wish you had asked prior to your duodenal switch surgery?

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.
