I'm going back to work tomorrow. I'm postop 3 weeks and on puréed. Do you think it's ok if I have a 8 oz Protein Shake for Breakfast and lunch for simplicity reasonings of not having to find/pack foods for a 30 min break?

I would say you are probably fine for now, but I just wanted to encourage you that it does get easier. I was mostly stressed about breakfast because I don't get up early enough to wait an hour after Synthroid then make sure no drinking of fluids and then a breakfast and then 30 minutes and then a shake, blah, blah blah. I have been back at work about 5 weeks and just now find this is getting easier for me. SO my advice does what is easiest the first week that won't stress you out but just know that packing a very small lunch or finding small breakfast becomes easier soon. :) Good luck! You might be tired tomorrow night so get lots of rest!

@@Woodland4807 - how was your first day back at work? Hope all went ok!!

My first day was great! I was sure tired and felt more hungry than usual but I'm constantly on my feet. I had a Protein Shake for breakfast and has some Soup for lunch. Then for dinner I had some squash with Protein Powder and a couple bites of this dish my husband made. I had 1/2 a Protein shake before dinner:)

Just been waiting until time for my consult with my bariatric surgeon. It's scheduled for Jan 9th. Turns out I won't actually be seeing him. Apparently it'll be with his P.A.             Not sure what to expect. I thought this is where the surgeon would discuss the best surgery option for me. For years I had my heart set on the sleeve, but I've read so many people have issues with reflux - even if they've never had it before - that they've had to be revised to the bypass. I already deal with GERD & take 40 mg of Omeprazole daily, so I started studying about bypass and honestly, it seems like it might be the better choice for me. How can we discuss surgery options if the surgeon is not there?
What happened at your first consult? Trying to get an idea of what to expect, or maybe I should say, what NOT to expect.

I would like to know what questions you wish you had asked prior to your duodenal switch surgery?
