nunya-got-sleeved 36 Posted August 4, 2015 I always thought it was Fiber you needed to keep full. It's not; it's Protein. You need to make sure you're getting in your protein. shakes are the best way to make sure you meet your mark. I was so hungry the first week thinking the doctor messed up on me and my surgery. I later found out if I load up on protein then I would not be hungry. Three months out and I'm never truly stomach hungry. I smell or see food and I'm always head hungry. Good luck to you

butterfly23 423 Posted August 4, 2015 Are you taking a PPI? I am 3.5 months out and for the first few months I thought I was hungry ALL the time but now it has mostly gone away. My doc told me it takes awhile for the body to adjust so there is too much acid in the beginning which mimics hunger. You may be truly hungry, but thought I'd share as I was convinced I was hungry all the time until I started a PPI (and now I am off it and no longer hungrier than normal).
