So today I had my psych eval. Prior to going I spent maybe 3 hrs filling out the booklet questionnaire and another 3 page packet of papers . I had to pay $275 as it was not something we could submit their insurance

Anyway I went to the appointment and she never asked for the packet when I asked her about packets and she said she didn't need it ( almost like she was unprepared )

Anyway I have to wait 3 to 4 days for her recommendation did that happen to anyone else? When I have been reading about this it seemed like many of you go your results that same day.

She said a lot of time the recommend more counseling is this going to hold up my surgery

The Dr that did my psych evaluation told me at the end of the session that "all was good" & she would forward report to my surgeon.

Mine was 15-25 minutes. Self pay. Did a little mental exam like what's the date, how to spell something, who was the president. Then was sent home with a personality test 500 questions. And was done, not once asking me anything about over eating.

I had a 3 hr consult. He told me his recommendations right there in his office and sent them to the Bariatrics clinic that night via fax.

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
