Hows everyone in the sunny UK today?

I am starting my exercise routine today. An hours walk every evening with a friend, across beautiful Salisbury Plain. Can't wait :D

What are you up to?

Hugs

Kate

Glad you are feeling so good! I'm getting my house in order ready for my Big Day. From your recommendations I've just done a big shop for 'stuff' that I think I may need. Soon I will have spent as much on Vitamins, Protein etc as I have on the operation, but I do like to feel prepared. There was also quite a long delivery date on some things, so good job I have ordered them now.

Speak soon x

@jane13 Yes, I really do miss it and feel this is the right time to crack on and get back to it. I have been so tired since surgery that now is the first time I have been interested. How are you feeling being back at work? I have another 3 weeks off :D

I'm a few days out now and feeling better each day! Last night was the first night I was able to sleep through most of the night and sleep on my sides. :)

Glad it's all going well for you. Enjoy your walk. x

We all are doing well. Im three weeks out today and I could not be happier! Walking the dog, doing work around the house and back in the office. This weekend I am going to do a little light work with the tractor, its the getting in and out that bothers me!

Great to hear things are going so well - I've just sent you a message. My advice with the tractor is to make sure you have your phone with you, so you can call hubby for help.

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Anyone had the TORe procedure? How did it go? How much weight did you loose?

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Your so close now! It's gonna be great :) Wishing you a speedy recovery and looking forward to seeing how it goes!

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
