treed 9 Posted August 2, 2015 Don't take the pain killers but keep taking the softeners. And start eating like yogurts and soups/broth or Proteins shakes
Bufflehead 6,358 Posted August 2, 2015 Keep following your program and stay off the scale for a while.
wannaBthinsoon 1,634 Posted August 2, 2015 LIMIT DAIRY!! Are you on regular foods yet? cheese and milk, etc "hidden fats". Once I focused on meat Proteins and not dairy Proteins I was able to break my stalls. I have dairy still, just not every day.
Inner Surfer Girl 12,015 Posted August 2, 2015 Make sure you focus on reaching your Protein and Water goals every day and stay off the scale.< /p>
jas84047 72 Posted August 2, 2015 I'm in week 5 too and have been in a stall for 3 weeks. I'm beside myself about it. I'm wondering why I did this to myself for a measly 28lbs. I get my Protein and keep my carbs and fats below what my NUT has said. I was just released for low exercise at 4wks but then got an infection that put me back to week 1 movement restrictions. That accounts for this week but not the previous 2 weeks - 1 of which I was camping and pretty much only on liquids and sweating and moving a ton in 100 degree weather. wantingabetterlife 364 Posted August 2, 2015 We all go through them and they will drive you crazy if you keep watching the scale sit at the same weight! I agree with @@Bufflehead and @@Inner Surfer Girl, follow your plan and stay away from the dreaded scale! You will probably see your body change before the scale moves. Stay strong! kellmark 59 Posted August 3, 2015 First off, this stall just happens. The best thing you can do is make sure you are getting your Protein, Water and supplements in. Not getting enough protein and water can affect weight loss. Then, just trust the process. When I hit my stall at that time, I went weighing every day to once a week. I tend to stall every few weeks now and the stall May last a week or two, but then I feel like I'm losing inches during that time, even though the scale isn't moving. Designer Edit 41 Posted August 4, 2015 I read this on My Fitness Pal: "Water weight loss returns: A rapid drop in weight is normal during the first few weeks of weight loss, but what you may not realize is that a fair amount of this initial weight decrease comes from Water lost as the body uses up carbohydrate stores in the form of glycogen (sugar). As carbohydrate intake fluctuates day-to-day, it’s not uncommon for some, if not all, of that water weight to return, which can offset fat loss and cause a plateau." So perhaps a focus on inches rather than weight? You could still be losing fat but gaining water which appears to be a stall but really isn't. I'm 3 weeks post op and have been stalled for 4 days. BUT I'm not meeting my goals so I'll be working very hard to get my Protein and water up and my carbs down. I'm still baffled at how I could eat less than 800 calories (of anything) and not lose weight. Our bodies are so bloody complex!!!!!
