Anyone Have RNY Weighing 225 or Less?

Recommended Posts

hello! I weigh 220 right now and had my band removed 12 months ago. I want the sleeve but afraid of the acid reflux that I've heard may accompany it. It was awful with the band. However, I did lose 45 lbs but have regained 15 lbs back. was anyone else a light weight for RNY?

I weighed 237 and was revised to bypass 7/15/15. I had very bad acid reflux too and that's why my surgeon didn't recommend the sleeve.

I'll be a light-weight when I have my band-to-bypass surgery. I've got a BMI around 36-37.

The day of surgery (7/31) weighed 207.5. I came home the next day weighing 214. (That was a bummer). This morning I weighed 206.5.

@Kaye221 - maybe ask how tall you are? I too am 237 at 5'8" and am going for the bypass but meet with surgeon on the 20th. Md recommended bypass because of my heartburn too. They want me to have a scope first too. I was curious how much you have lost since the bypass recently. Thanks much and hope you are healing well ????

Just been waiting until time for my consult with my bariatric surgeon. It's scheduled for Jan 9th. Turns out I won't actually be seeing him. Apparently it'll be with his P.A.             Not sure what to expect. I thought this is where the surgeon would discuss the best surgery option for me. For years I had my heart set on the sleeve, but I've read so many people have issues with reflux - even if they've never had it before - that they've had to be revised to the bypass. I already deal with GERD & take 40 mg of Omeprazole daily, so I started studying about bypass and honestly, it seems like it might be the better choice for me. How can we discuss surgery options if the surgeon is not there?
What happened at your first consult? Trying to get an idea of what to expect, or maybe I should say, what NOT to expect.

I would like to know what questions you wish you had asked prior to your duodenal switch surgery?
