One year anniversary of my GB

Recommended Posts

Today is my one year anniversary of my GB, I'm down 152lbs (33 male 6"1') although everyone congratulates me on my great "accomplishments", I don't feel very happy or different and this is disappointing because, I thought weight was holding me back in life, yes, it may have partly been that but it's become inherently clear that I have much work to do.

Great work man! If you can figure out the weight, which you did in a big way, you can figure out everything else I'm sure.

Congratulations on your weight loss thus far. Life might seem a little discouraging to you but look at the positives.

In my case, because of the surgery, almost all my medical conditions went into remission and stayed there.

Also my stamina (ability to perform manual labor) improved dramatically. Last year I moved by hand 100,000 pounds of gravel and 50,000 pounds of concrete landscaping blocks. I am 66 years old.

Also I was able to go to normal department stores and buy clothes. I went from a size 3X in shirts down to a size Small and from a size 46 in pants down to a size 32.

WLS may not fix all the problems in your life but it helps. It sounds like you need to get out of the rut, exit out of your safe box and do something really exciting.

Donald, I think that is a brave thing to express. I think for some people it does change a lot of things, or even everything. For me, I still have a lot of the same struggles in other parts of my life. But I do think tackling the other problems is easier when the weight issue isn't such a dominating factor.

Donald have you sought out help in the form of counselling? Perhaps there are some issues that you need to work out that you are having trouble facing or even unable to identify. I know thai was the case with me when I went through counseling, I have done it a few times and found it very rewarding.

Congrats on your weight loss. I bet getting out there after Mr. Whiskers is easier now. I am 6 days post op and have been itching to get back on the Water catch some fish. I hope in don't get smaller with my weight loss, lol just kidding. Good luck in all that you pursue.

Thanks, yes... I've been going to therapy and a doctor for many years now. I'm diagnosed bipolar with bad anxiety, I've been on Effexor for 8+years and I'm currently weaning myself off of them. The withdrawal symptoms are terrible. But I am keeping a close eye on my moods and depression and would notify the doctor or get help if I need it.

I am glad to hear that you are getting the help you need. I have met many people who are resistant to seeking out help. In my experiences it was very helpful

So I have to ask what is you preferred method of catfishing?
