I didn't get the insurance, but I did look into it. Most of the policies only cover facilities in their network. This is surgery, so their are risks. The risk can be mitigated by researching your surgeon. If you are interested in the insurance, here are some links:

This company looks promising to me: http://www.globalprotectivesolutions.com/insurance-plans/individual-and-companion/

This is the broker that sells it: http://customassurance.com/international-medical-and-travel-insurance

Here is another one: https://www2.sevencorners.com/insurance-for-travelers/

And another one: http://www.compassbenefits.com/medical_tourism_insurance.html

The point of medical tourism is to go and pay cash I think. So you may be challenged to find something that provides insurance

Quality Soup helped, Isopure Protein, as much exercise and walking as you can do. The point of the pre-op liquid diet is to shrink the liver as much as possible so the surgeon has an easy route to the stomach. So no carbs or alcohol. The week before the surgery stinks, and it's not easy for the next two weeks, but it's just beginning steps on a longer journey. The rewards have been well worth it. There are many inspiring stories on this site and those stories helped me get ready and continue to inspire me to do more for my health. Ultimately WLS is a tool, you still have to do the work. But it is a very good tool.

Great thanks OKC, day 5 down another 1.5lb only 6lbs to go before surgery day. Not as weak today. I am going to order Isopure for after surgery because the shake that the dr suggested tastes horrible I mean bad I am pretty good at handling things that don't taste great that are good for you but these are horrendous. I went to a Vitamin and Protein store yesterday and their shake is pretty good he gave me a sample and it's really thin which I think will be better for post op. Thanks for your guidance glad I found this site

Hi, I’m new here. I’m currently on the liver shrinking diet. So far so good, but I have to say I haven’t found a protein shake I like. Anyone have any suggestions please? My surgery date is September 17th.

Fairlife Core are by far the best. They taste just as they are - chocolate milk. You can either get the 26 grams or the 42 grams (harder to find and more expensive). For straight protein look at Bulksuppliments.com ..they have really good whey proteins and offer auto ship plus they test for purity. No taste or smell...

Fairlife has strawberry, vanilla and of course chocolate. No more calories than other protein drinks. Stay away from Premiere, they're dealing with lawsuits due to not being honest about protein content.
