@@Licia'sjourney Glad you have blood work and a check up coming up. Hopefully they can get to the bottom of why you might still be struggling with fatigue at 7 weeks. Maybe your body is still recovering and adjusting and it's just a matter of a little more time needed to find the right balance.

@@Licia how tall are you? I had my 6 week check up yesterday and recovery has been great except I am tired all the time. Im 5'10 and my doctor asked how many calories I was eating. I told her 700-800 and she said no wonder you're tired, you're not eating enough! She said with my height I should be eating around 1200 calories a day. Scary but I'm gonna try it and see what happens. I haven't lost anything the last week so it can't hurt.

I was so tired the first 4 weeks ... like other people said .. taking a shower ... WOW ... I had to nap afterward! And they tell you to walk walk walk .... I wanted to cry everytime ... it was such an effort just to hold my head up .... I just wasn't taking in enough "fuel" to keep me going ... and I wasn't drinking enough either ... so make sure you SIP SIP SIP ... SO IMPORTANT !!!

After the 3rd week ... I came back to work ... I work full time as an office manager ... and coming back to work was the best thing for me ... it really made me push through it and focus on other things rather than how crappy I was feeling .... and now ... 6 weeks out ... I'm good as new !

Be patient ... energy will come ... we're all testament to that ! :)

@ - Im 5'6" and am eating consistently around 800-850 and occasionally 900-1000. I think when I upped my calories to the 800+ range it helped me to lose better but I have not seen much improvement in energy.

Just been waiting until time for my consult with my bariatric surgeon. It's scheduled for Jan 9th. Turns out I won't actually be seeing him. Apparently it'll be with his P.A.             Not sure what to expect. I thought this is where the surgeon would discuss the best surgery option for me. For years I had my heart set on the sleeve, but I've read so many people have issues with reflux - even if they've never had it before - that they've had to be revised to the bypass. I already deal with GERD & take 40 mg of Omeprazole daily, so I started studying about bypass and honestly, it seems like it might be the better choice for me. How can we discuss surgery options if the surgeon is not there?
What happened at your first consult? Trying to get an idea of what to expect, or maybe I should say, what NOT to expect.

I would like to know what questions you wish you had asked prior to your duodenal switch surgery?
