Low heart rate?

Recommended Posts

Hi pre surgery I had normal HR of 65-75 but lately it has been a low as 44 beats per min. Today 55. I've realized my Multivitamin doesn't include Iron so I've started taking that and chlorophyll. Just wondered if anyone else experienced this.

Mine is regularly somewhere between the low 40's and mid 50's. My PCP isn't concerned, she says that's fine for someone who exercises regularly. What does your doctor say?

My resting heart rate is certainly lower than it was a year ago. Just checked it, and it's 54 bpm.

Before surgery 92 pounds ago, it was over 70. When I was in the losing phases it got down into the 40s.

I'm not exercising yet, (other than occasional walk) I'm just a few weeks out and definitely in the losing stage

My heart rate was low for the first nine months or so - upper 40s to mid 50s with frequent dizzy spells, almost like my blood pressure was dropping. It eventually worked itself out and now it's fine 1.5 years out.

I had bradycardia many years ago due to my thyroid going crazy. I am 2 weeks post op and my heart rate is in low 40's as well. Bradycardia is back. They do not seemed to worried but I do get dizzy and have fallen twice.

@@slvrsax, if your having dizzy and falling symptoms you should have your thyroid checked or see if your electrolytes are off. I started taking Iron and chlorophyll pills along with my Multivitamins ands now it's much better. ..in the upper 50's to mid 60's which is normal.

My heart rate was 55 today at my PCP visit. She wasn't sure why it was so low, but it seems to a re-occurring problem these past few months. My heart rate was in the 90's before surgery.

I had bradycardia at the time of the sleeve procedure (would set the alarms off all night when my heart rate dropped into the 30's) and 2 years post surgery I started having dizzy spells, light headed and nausea. My resting heart rate was in the 40's and would drop to 29 several times. I passed out twice. I do have a history of hashimotos thyroid (low thyroid) and am on the correct medication. I finally saw a cardiologist and had a "BIG" workup. Mechanically and plumbing wise my heart is fine. I passed out with the tilt table test (to check the "electrical system of the heart" so they put in a pacemaker. Now my resting heart rate won't go below 70 and I feel so much better.

Since surgery my heart rate has been regularly in the 40s sometimes into the 30s. I don't have any dizziness or anything so my cardiologist doesn't seem too worried. Do you have any idea why yours was so low and why it became problematic years later?

Any update on your heart rate? Mine was also in the 90s prior to surgery and now it's in the 60s and dips to low 50s overnight. I am 9 days post op.

I was in the ER overnight and noticed that my heart rate was in the 60's despite having anxiety. I had an excruciating stomachache for four hours. They attributed it to a spasm/food getting stuck. I'll be drinking more and eating less turkey from now on.

How much weight have you lost? You can develop a low heart relate from extreme/ fast weight loss because your body will consume your heart muscle if it's not getting enough Protein.

My heart rate is 56 now because if this reason. I would discuss it with your surgeon.

Hi everyone! I’m brand new here. I just went through all my pre-op requirements per my insurance company and now everything has been submitted and I’m just waiting for final approval and my surgery date. I’ve been doing research, watching YouTube videos, TikTok’s, ect.. trying to prepare my mind and what to expect so I’ll be ready for the surgery. I was so sure and so set and so ready and excited. However, now that I’ve done everything & it’s almost here, I am sooooooo scared! I know why I want it bc I’ve tried everything and I just don’t feel like I can lose weight by myself. I’m tired of being overweight my entire life. I’m miserable, but I keep psyching myself out afraid of GERD bc I know how that can be and I don’t want to have to get a bypass after already gaining the courage to even get VSG. I’m scared of complications like I’mgoing to regret doing it and be depressed that I didn’t just be more disciplined and try again to lose the weight on my own even sitting here typing this knowing in my mind i just can’t and don’t possess the discipline. I’m also afraid I won’t be able to handle the restrictions of the sleeve. What do I eat? I don’t know how to eat healthy really and don’t enjoy healthy food. I don’t know how to do this! I feel so defeated!Someone tell me they felt anything similar to this or am I not ready? I thought I was. I am so tired of being sick and tired and so tired of myself and so tired of being stuck and stuck in this body and somebody different on the outside from what I feel inside. I just want to ball up and cry.

The 14th was my day. I am home and recovery is going pretty smooth. They even let me walk out of the hospital. Picture of me in recovery curtesy of my boyfriend lol.
