Hurts When I Eat? at 5 weeks.

Recommended Posts

Hey guys,

I just hit 5 weeks, this point at which my doctor allows regular food. But he recommended trying softer things like fish, and to cut it up really small.

I made a Pasta with mushroom sauce and lean ground beef (something like beef stroganoff), cut up the Pasta really small- made sure it wasn't spicy or heavy with oil or anything like that- BUT when I ate it, it hurt! I don't know if its my esophagus hurting or stomach, but its painful!

Should I be worried? Does it mean I just ate too fast?

My niece was over 6 months out before she could handle one bite of rice or Pasta.

Well to be honest, your dinner sounds delicious as I sip my Protein shake.

I'm told that bread, rice and Pasta are not comfortable for many people as they can be "sticky". Beef is also difficult for some people. I haven't tried any of the 3 starches yet and they are specifically called out as something to avoid on my program.

If you're in tremendous pain, you shouldn't hesitate to call your Dr.

Some people have luck walking these things off. Me, I tend to worry about everything.

meat first and only first! Pasta doesn't sit well and expands and it breaks down. It will make you full before you get your protien in and can be very painful at this time. I'm 4 weeks out and been eating real food for 2 weeks. All meat all the time... it's boring yes, but it's what your body needs.

Thank you all, that makes a lot of sense. I'll stay away from the Pasta and rice/grains etc. Stick with softer meats.< /p>
