Power Plate

has anyone seen this? i saw this recently on the news (I am in Houston and this was developed here by NASA- so maybe that's why it was on the news here?) they interviewed people who were using it and they said it was incredible... i think they said 15 min. on the PowerPlate was the equivalent to a 45 min. traditional workout!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

it states that if you have an implanted medical device, then you cannot use it, but our Port is not listed. I am definitely gonna ask my doc next time i see him if this would be ok. just thought i would fish around and see if anyone here has actually used a Power Plate. ???

This thing reminds me of those old movies where the large lady is standing on a platform and a big band is strapped around her bottom, jiggling her for all it is worth. And for $10K, I'm not willing to put my skepticism to the test. But, if a gym had one, I'd give it a whirl.

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
