Never figured that out myself - other than trashing it. UGH

I thought the same thing! Could never "stomach" the stuff.

I thought Isopure was terrible too. I haven't touched the stuff since my first week post op. The 2 bottles I had leftover I gave to a friend that was having the surgery.

I tried it and didn't like it. But at 40 grams of Protein per bottle I thought it might be a good alternative. It took me almost 2 hours to drink one bottle, it tasted that bad. I let my wife have a taste and she liked it. Others seem to praise it. So it is all a function of your taste buds.

Depends on your taste. I like the grape and my husband likes the coconut which I haven't tried.

Isopure was a godsend in the first few weeks after my surgery- I didn't find anything else other than "New Whey" Protein shots (which I found were dreadful from the first sip, but when I was drinking from a 1-ounce medicine cup, I could tolerate nearly anything) that had more bang for the buck as far as Protein content. However, I do agree with @@James Marusek- my tastes changed, and what was palatable at first became very metallic tasting. I see those bottles now and my stomach instinctively knots. I'm sorry you didn't have a better experience with them :(

I used Isopure powder for the first 6 months post op and loved it. If anyone is wanting to get rid of their supply, let me know and I will it buy it from you.

i bought the vanilla low carb one. i don't love it. But these days, i add 1 tbs of Peanut Butter, some ice, and almond milk and a pack of splenda just so i can finish the bag and move on. -_-

This stuff is nasty! Horrible! What do you guys mix it in?

Which one do you have? I buy the unflavored and add it to pretty much everything. I also like the ice tea.

That said, if you don't like it, try something else. There are a million different Protein powders/drinks/waters/etc..... on the market. The key to success is finding one you like.

I could tolerate it on over Ice, I was told to Water it down AND put it over ice.....It sounded like to much work and I only had to use it one day and then I went back to my regular Premier Protein shakes.

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
