Second full day of pre op diet, gasp, gasp.

If you don't see me on here much it's 'cause the keys are so hard to push down, and I'm so weak!

Four carnation instant breakfasts a day, and veggies. Veggies. Veggies.

Oh, yeah, and broth. Don't forget broth.

No liquor for me Lisa Green! LOL.

Shhh. Gotta go, them vultures are hoverin' and circlin' again.

Hey, Ryan, final count down!!! What day is your banding? How is Patti doing? You timed that about right, get her recouped, then get your band! Just think of how low your cholesterol will be on this pre-op. Best of luck to you!

Poor Ryan, :P, but this is your initiation into the Banded Bellies Association. Smile, you're about to become a banded brother. :(

Hi Ryan, I was asked to do 2 weeks of liquid diet before surgery on 11/30. I decided I am going to do 3 weeks and starting on Sunday the 7th. I am doing that as I have eaten more than I should of recently..... So, for one week we will be doing the same in preparation for our new life. So, November band brother, you can also be my November broth brother. Such an honor, I am sure you are overcome with emotion.

I too am so glad Patty is home and able to support your efforts as you will her healing. Best wishes to you both.

I am looking forward to that yummy broth. Don't forget the sugar free Jello -- I actually really like that. I bought a bunch of those little containers and pretend it is such a very nice treat to have that. Okay, so it works for me????

Take care and best wishes in your preparation for victory. Theresa Marie

Thanks guys. Patty isn't fully recovered at all. In fact the RSD is for life, but she IS mostly pain free now until the next round of surgeries begin, early next year.

The best news of all is that I won't have to go to the in-laws for Thanksgiving. Now THAT'S special!!!!!!!!!!!!!1

Get my final endo tomorrow, pre op tests the eleventh, and on to the sixteenth.

Good luck with your Endo!! I wished we could all be there waiting on you when they wheel you out of recovery after your surgery. I dunno why, I guess because brothers are special that way.

Hello Ryan -- 1-1/2 days down, 12-1/2 to go? Look back two weeks and think how fast that time flew. We know you can do this. The liquid diet after the band is a piece of cake (sorry, poor choice of words) compared to the pre-surgery regimen, when there's nothing restricting your hunger or appetite. But look, you're already down 14 lbs.! With no in-laws at Thanksgiving! Now that's something to be thankful for. Good luck -- you have everyone at LBT in your corner, and we'll be thinking happy liquid thoughts for you over the next 12 days.

Nutritionist has added one T of healthy oil a day, like olive oil, she's concerned about going that period of time without any fat in the diet.

I took my oil, heated it in a pan, fried some shredded cabbage in it, put it on a plate, then stir fried broccoli, cauliflower, mushrooms and onions, hit it with some balsamic vinegar, and Basil, tossed it on top of the cabbage base.

Heaven!, and there was still oil in the wok, so I didn't even use the whole Tablespoon!

I love knowing how to cook.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Your so close now! It's gonna be great :) Wishing you a speedy recovery and looking forward to seeing how it goes!

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!

Hi everyone! I’m brand new here. I just went through all my pre-op requirements per my insurance company and now everything has been submitted and I’m just waiting for final approval and my surgery date. I’ve been doing research, watching YouTube videos, TikTok’s, ect.. trying to prepare my mind and what to expect so I’ll be ready for the surgery. I was so sure and so set and so ready and excited. However, now that I’ve done everything & it’s almost here, I am sooooooo scared! I know why I want it bc I’ve tried everything and I just don’t feel like I can lose weight by myself. I’m tired of being overweight my entire life. I’m miserable, but I keep psyching myself out afraid of GERD bc I know how that can be and I don’t want to have to get a bypass after already gaining the courage to even get VSG. I’m scared of complications like I’mgoing to regret doing it and be depressed that I didn’t just be more disciplined and try again to lose the weight on my own even sitting here typing this knowing in my mind i just can’t and don’t possess the discipline. I’m also afraid I won’t be able to handle the restrictions of the sleeve. What do I eat? I don’t know how to eat healthy really and don’t enjoy healthy food. I don’t know how to do this! I feel so defeated!Someone tell me they felt anything similar to this or am I not ready? I thought I was. I am so tired of being sick and tired and so tired of myself and so tired of being stuck and stuck in this body and somebody different on the outside from what I feel inside. I just want to ball up and cry.

Am feeling this right now. My surgery date is 4/1. Sign the consent tomorrow. I feel like I overloaded myself with too much info, too many opinions. Got to the point where I was wondering if I should do this. Then I thought of my reasons for taking this step and that settled my nerves. Still get moments of doubt but am striving forward. Am just going to follow my book from the surgeon. Joined this because I was told by my dietician that I should do this for support
