Hi....I think it is normal to have high and low energy....we have to get in enough Protein and keep our bodies hydrated...just follow the doctor's guidelines.

I didn't have a whole lot of energy right after being banded. I felt good, but not a lot of energy. About a week out, I started getting energy back and now it is through the roof. I can hardly sit still, where as three months ago, thats all I did was sit....The only times I am sitting still and not doing anything is when I am on the computer and eating. I don't watch much t.v. maybe two or three hours a week, and mostly the news. I love the new found energy. Makes you feel like you can do ANYTHING!!!

Yes, mine was so low for about a week. I'd get up and then just want to crawl onto the couch. To get up and get something to drink was something I really had to think about. I discovered that in fact I was very constipated, and I think that that was at the root of my problems. I tried suppositories, enemas and finally my doctor told me to try Phososoda, a product by Fleet, in the enema section of the drug store. Finally, I was able to go after nine + days. I was feeling terrible and that was the cause. After I was able to go, I felt great. Good luck.

With me, it all depends on my exercise...if I allow myself to be 'too busy' to get on the treadmill, I notice my energy level dropping. Getting back into the routine picks it right back up.

the first 3 days after banding all i pretty much did was sleep and drink (99% sleep, 1% drink). then the rest of the week i was awake but like someone else mentioned, even to get something to drink i had to really *think* about it..

now my energy is through the roof! i have a desk job and find myself needing to walk every 1/2 hour or so. just to get up and move!

good luck.

I've been up and down with my engery. As others stated, if I don't get my Protein in, my energy is low. I've been in a slump for a couple weeks, but I also haven't been drinking my Protein Shakes.< /p>

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
