Hello Everyone,

I am post op day 10 and extremely tired after walking 2 miles today. Since my surgery I have been walking daily but only in the house or when going to the store which has been every other day. When I was walking it felt as if I can feel my internal organs, it is kind of weird. Has anyone else experience this same feeling? How long before I can walk without feeling extremely tired? Prior to surgery I was walking about 6 miles a day

Walking for 2 miles is good for 10 days post op. It's perfectly normal to feel tired afterwards. I think I needed a daily nap for at least the 1 month post op. As your body heals you will regain your strength. Right now just listen to your body and nap when needed.

It's not unusual to have a high initial weight loss when you start with a higher weight. At my 2 week f/u I had loss 26lbs. At my 6 week appointment I loss another 6lbs. It eventually slows down . Average weight loss is 5 -12 lbs a month for most VSGers.

Just been waiting until time for my consult with my bariatric surgeon. It's scheduled for Jan 9th. Turns out I won't actually be seeing him. Apparently it'll be with his P.A.             Not sure what to expect. I thought this is where the surgeon would discuss the best surgery option for me. For years I had my heart set on the sleeve, but I've read so many people have issues with reflux - even if they've never had it before - that they've had to be revised to the bypass. I already deal with GERD & take 40 mg of Omeprazole daily, so I started studying about bypass and honestly, it seems like it might be the better choice for me. How can we discuss surgery options if the surgeon is not there?
What happened at your first consult? Trying to get an idea of what to expect, or maybe I should say, what NOT to expect.

I would like to know what questions you wish you had asked prior to your duodenal switch surgery?
