Same here. I've technically only lost 2 pounds this month because of the 3 pound bounce back and forth.

Here is what I'm doing. I'm going to change up my exercise routine. Instead of cardio like I normally do most of the time, I'm going to concentrate on more circuit training this month (strength/resistance/resulting in increased heart rate).

I've also been eating quite a bit of fruit, resulting in more sugar and carbs than I usually eat. I'm going to cut the fruit out this month (sad face) just to jump start the weight loss. I'm going to also cut out a snack (I've been having up to 3 Snacks a day, lol).

I will be keeping my calories the same, (1200-1300 at 11 months out), but will just be eating different things to get them.

Sometimes you just gotta shake things up ;)

yup ive been doing the 2-3 pound bounce, it just happens. Try going back to what works for you , increase your Fluid intake decrease your food intake. try swapping out a Protein shake for 1 of your meals, etc.

Changing up your routine is a great way to bring you back on track.

For me i changed from 6 to 7 miles on the bike to a 2 mile fast paced walk. and im adding some circuit training in this week as well. so change things up a bit. itll happen, also watch your sugars and carbs. try to get them down to minimal amounts.

You Can do this!

I would like to know what questions you wish you had asked prior to your duodenal switch surgery?

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
