Hi, I am new to posting here, I have read a lot, but I was banded on May 17th.

I have had no complications at all......

I am not sure this is the right place for this question.....but

I have had a VERY upset stomach and diarrhea since Thursday night...My Dr. said to only take Pepto-Bismol for this, the bottle says do not take for more than 2 days.

I have tried to contact my Dr and somehow the phone lines are crossed,

We are in Texas where we have got all the rain so I am sure that has a lot to do with it.

I live 2 hrs away, so I really don't want to have to go to the ER to get help.

I was just wondering why can't I take Imodium....It works very well on me every time.....before LBS.

Anyone else have this problem.....please I can use whatever experience anyone has.....Thanks in advance...

Trish

sorry you are having problems.

i have taken immodium before (after banded) without any problems, but if your surgeon says Pepto only, i'd try him again.

Most docs tend to suggest Immodium but perhaps your doc has some reason for wanting you to stay on Pepto. Call him tomorrow during business hours and ask if you can't use Immodium.

Thanks a bunch......

I got in touch w/ my Dr..... I called the hospital where I am supposed to go if I have problems, told them about his 24/7 phone line...and within an hour he called me......he said he wasn't a big fan of Immodium....but it would be ok to take 1 dose...and if I wasn't better by tomorrow to come into the office.

I took the one dose and was able to take about a 4 1/2 hour nap.......I was tired!!:notagree

But now it is the same thing.....back to the bathroom,:sick so I am about to take my 2nd dose....I am a fan of Immodium,:clap2: and if I have to drink that pink stuff again...I know I won't keep it down.:)

The best thing about this whole thing is......I know I have lost a few pounds!!;)

Had a sleeve in 2017, lost over 100 pounds. Had a DS surgery this year (2025) for more sustainable weight loss. 🤞

The 14th was my day. I am home and recovery is going pretty smooth. They even let me walk out of the hospital. Picture of me in recovery curtesy of my boyfriend lol.

Neat you have a pic of this day! I was sooo happy to get my surgery. It was well worth it! And I'm not even near my goal. I had surgery Dec. 2!
