Okay ya'll. I've heard of the dreaded 3 week stall period your body goes through...but I'm having it at a week and half post surgery?? I'm 11 days post op and my scale hasn't moved in 3 days!! Discouraging, to say the least.

But maybe if I'm not the only one this has happened to....? Sticking to my NUTs plan, not falling off the band wagon, keep on keeping on...I know all of this. Maybe my stall just came early. I was happy losing 1-3 lbs a day - who wouldn't be?! :(

Just stay off the scale. I only weighed at my follow-up doctors appointments early out, and now only once every one to two weeks. If you are following your program, getting in all your Protein and Water, and moving/exercising you will lose weight. Getting on the scale every day will not change that and will only drive you crazy.

As long as you keep doing what you're doing, it'll be fine. Your body is not magic, it is not above physics, it will follow endothermic/exothermic reactions and burn fat if you are sticking to the diet.

The 3-week stall is a rite of passage. Consider it your initiation into the Loser's club. :D

My stall happened in the second week and lasted for 2 weeks.

It is frustrating but stick with the program and the weight WILL come off.

The second week of my stall I kept losing and gaining the same lb several times and then I finally lost it plus 4 more over about 5 days.

It will come off!!

I only weigh once a week. Every now and then I will step on the scale mid-week but I try not too. My weight may fluctuate throughout the week but what I don't know won't hurt me. Here are my numbers.

High weight - 268

Date of surgery 6-15 weight: 254

1 week PO: 248

2 wk PO: 247

3 wk PO: 243

4 wk PO: 241

1 mo PO 7-15: 239

5 wk PO: 238

I will weigh in the morning to see where I am on week 6. Don't weigh so often. To break myself of the habit I sent my scale to my daughters house for a few weeks.

I lost 19 lbs in first 10 days post op, but I have not lost more than a pound or two in the last 10 days. I was sleeved 7/8. Def discouraging, but staying positive and hoping it will come off more when my body is ready.. I am more of a 2-3 week stall.

My stall started in my 2nd week and I'm now about to start week 4. My scale hasn't moved an ounce in 14days! It's killing me!

I'm similar. I lost about 12 the first week, 4 the second week. 1 each week following. I am about to start week 5 and hoping things pick up soon! Averaging 600-800 cals and 60 grams of Protein.

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
