OK just had my first food dream - at least that I woke up and remembered. It was potato chips! All kinds of chips! Not just the really good salty kind but there were really spicy ones and even chocolate covered ones! And they tasted oh so good! ???? And my first thought (in my dream) was "oh no! Now I know I can still eat potato chips and them go down easily, I may slide back into

that habit!". Haha! Good to know the habit changing thoughts of surgery has creeped in to my subconscious!

I did the RNY on Jun but I can eat almost everything even the potato chips. can you eat those things? and what happen to you if you do eat them? how much of food you can tolerate to eat in the same time? actually, I had a gastric banding revision to RNY and it's really new situation for me.

I had RNY on June 4. I am sure I could try potato chips but it is a trigger food for me so I don't even want to try. In the way of crunchy, the only thing I have had since surgery is 1 pork rind and 2 crackers. While they both went down OK, I am having enough trouble with getting in Protein from real food (especially meats) that I don't really have space to get in chips or other carbs. Solid foods are still giving me a but of trouble so I am sticking with soft/pureed foods for a while longer. I can generally eat anywhere from 1/8 cup (2 tablespoons) to 1/3 cup (just over 5 tablespoons) at any one time. Really depends in what it is. With something thin like Soup or yogurt I can get in a bit more but I only portion out no more than 1/2 cup and stop eating at 20 to 30 minutes even if not full so I don't overeat.

I hate to tell you this, but I quit smoking 20 years ago and *still* have smoking dreams! It may just be part of addiction (or past addiction) - it remains part of your identity, even years later. I won't be surprised if i have food dreams for a long time after this....

Hi everyone! I’m brand new here. I just went through all my pre-op requirements per my insurance company and now everything has been submitted and I’m just waiting for final approval and my surgery date. I’ve been doing research, watching YouTube videos, TikTok’s, ect.. trying to prepare my mind and what to expect so I’ll be ready for the surgery. I was so sure and so set and so ready and excited. However, now that I’ve done everything & it’s almost here, I am sooooooo scared! I know why I want it bc I’ve tried everything and I just don’t feel like I can lose weight by myself. I’m tired of being overweight my entire life. I’m miserable, but I keep psyching myself out afraid of GERD bc I know how that can be and I don’t want to have to get a bypass after already gaining the courage to even get VSG. I’m scared of complications like I’mgoing to regret doing it and be depressed that I didn’t just be more disciplined and try again to lose the weight on my own even sitting here typing this knowing in my mind i just can’t and don’t possess the discipline. I’m also afraid I won’t be able to handle the restrictions of the sleeve. What do I eat? I don’t know how to eat healthy really and don’t enjoy healthy food. I don’t know how to do this! I feel so defeated!Someone tell me they felt anything similar to this or am I not ready? I thought I was. I am so tired of being sick and tired and so tired of myself and so tired of being stuck and stuck in this body and somebody different on the outside from what I feel inside. I just want to ball up and cry.

The 14th was my day. I am home and recovery is going pretty smooth. They even let me walk out of the hospital. Picture of me in recovery curtesy of my boyfriend lol.

Neat you have a pic of this day! I was sooo happy to get my surgery. It was well worth it! And I'm not even near my goal. I had surgery Dec. 2!
