Yeah he is in my neck of the woods, from boston, the problem is it doesnt seem right. He has supposedly been at this for two months and he has traveled like 100 miles total in the two months. Its a little weird and now he has a free bike as his suddenly broke, Also he said he was doing it for charity, but theres no record of any donations. Its kind of a weird thing for someone so big to be sleeping out for a year ( he says it will take that long to go cross country.

There has been a lot of skepticism about this one.

I dunno, if he loses weight, well good for him.

I couldn't imagine getting on a bike, let alone pedalling/balancing for any length of time or sleeping on the ground without risking serious injury now let alone 100 pounds ago. To me, this kind of extreme attempt to lose weight (like The Biggest Loser) reaks of self abuse and eating disordered behavior. Of course, this is my first impression without reading any details.

I don't know anything about this guy or this story really, but at 395, I can't really ride a bike. My balance is so off, but even if it weren't where did he find a bike sturdy enough to hold him? I went to several bike shops when I was "just 300lbs" and they basically laughed me out the door as they didn't sell any rated to that weight limit. Also, if I tried to sleep on the ground for even 1 night my body would be in so much pain I wouldn't be able to physically get up let alone peddle a bike all day before and after said night on the ground. If he is somehow managing to do this at that size, well good on him, but from where I sit, something doesn't add up. I'm suspicious or at the very least jealous!

I've been riding since I was 310# and I had no problem. I couldn't have just gotten on a bike and started off though, I had been riding for years..

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
