AfitRN2015 33 Posted July 23, 2015 It will pass. Your body is sensitive to anesthesia. Once all of it is out of your system things will return to normal. Sometimes it takes a few days.
AWD12368 30 Posted July 23, 2015 I hope your right! I feel so awful and I am just hoping for some relief. It sounds like they are going to keep me in the hospital for another night be safe.
Qbanma81 29 Posted July 23, 2015 I'm two days post up and had same problem due to my swollen new tummy. My doctor ordered 2 rounds of decadron. I started to feel better and was discharged later that evening yesterday.
Tkrk0325 15 Posted July 24, 2015 I was cathed after surgery too a few times. It's just probably from anesthesia.
naturegirl 320 Posted July 24, 2015 I've been able to urinate everyday, but the nausea hasn't really gone away. Sometimes when I feel the urge to pee I just sit there. I've noticed it comes in waives, do as long as I sip and wait it out I've been gone. Now let's hope that there are no BMs until after the pain is gone,
choosehope 233 Posted July 24, 2015 Every time I have had surgery, I have to be cathed multiple times and have to stay longer than expected. After my hysterectomy, I had to go home with a catheter and after a week had to go to self-cathing (in and out). My bladder just doesn't seem to want to wake up quite honestly, it's one of my biggest worried about bypass. Not because it's painful, but because it's a pain in the butt! ???? PattyGirl24 5 Posted July 24, 2015 When I was taking the pain meds they aid me throw up once I stopped I was good to go also my doctor had to retract me to swallow and chew with out getting air in my stomach which made me want to throw up as well smh I know some ppl get catheter of they can not pee it takes time by day 4 it gets better
rtzj9 3 Posted July 25, 2015 I have the "can't go pee" syndrome whenever I take Vicodin; it's a good indication that I'm over medicated. Try backing off your pain meds and just take some Tylenol.
Daughter2thaSun 1 Posted July 26, 2015 I was super dehydrated the evening after surgery. They gave me an extra IV of Fluid. I felt way better and pee'd shortly after. I hate getting a catheter, so this worked before going to that step.
Emily9654 12 Posted July 27, 2015 I was very sick and nauseous my first few days post Opp, I couldn't keep anything down and forget the Tylenol 3.. Oh and also had major hiccups and throwing up. Luckily I had a great nurse and said she's not bothered if I called her at 3 in the morning. I ended up having to take suppositories, (I know awful right?) but they helped me get incredibly better..I'd say don't hesitate to call your nurse or Doctors office for help. They will help you.
