I am not sure I could do them without them becoming sliders, but if they work for you that's great!!

Eating the wrong thing too much is a slippery slope. Aka slider food. Or maybe call it a trigger food

It is also one of those strange food that reacts differently to the point of no restriction. It's ice cream for me. My husbands slider food is corn chips. I have no idea why it happens but during your journey you will find one or two foods that you seem to be able to eat so much more than other foods and yes it's never a great food with lot's of Protein

I can't eat ice cream! It's the weirdest thing. It gets stuck and hurts. I'm lactose intolerant and shouldn't be eating it anyway so I'm kind of glad I can't. But things with the same consistency I have no problem with. Strange.

No way would I eat those Rusk dealios.

Based on the nutrition info on the label, that's a slider food of the first order.

Typically high carb, highly processed & fattening foods that are easily digested and pass through the stomach quickly such as ice cream, chips, crackers, Cookies, etc.. They do not need to be fully eliminated from one's diet, just eat them on occasion and in moderation.

"Something that went down easy" is a post for a different forum. :)

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
