Every time I eat something that's not pudding or in the clear phase I get pain in my chest and have to force myself to puke. It's not food I'm puking up either, it's like an egg white consistency, clear Fluid. Anyone had this happen?

I believe that's mucous that is made in your stomach or esophagus to deal with stuck food that's not moving. Have you been making sure to eat slowly and chew thoroughly.

I've had a couple issues with food getting stuck lately and i end up producing a lot of saliva before eventually throwing up (or sometimes I just gag until it passes somehow).

Yeah, I make sure to chew a lot and slowly. I had it happen yesterday after two small bites of fish, and it took me ten minutes between bites because I was talking. I have an appointment to see the doctor and see if we can figure it out, luckily I have a surgeon that's big on quickly getting people in.

Yes! All too often in my opinion! Seems to be with tougher foods - fish, meats, etc. I was telling my counselor about it today and she told me to stop worrying about not progressing with foods (only 7 weeks out) and maybe my stomach just isn't ready for tough foods. Hope that is true and going to try that for another week. I will say that the best solution is once you do vomit, you need to go back to fluids for at least 24 hours and let your system calm down and then do pureed for 24 hours and then try again with denser food (at least that is what I have been told :)

Just been waiting until time for my consult with my bariatric surgeon. It's scheduled for Jan 9th. Turns out I won't actually be seeing him. Apparently it'll be with his P.A.             Not sure what to expect. I thought this is where the surgeon would discuss the best surgery option for me. For years I had my heart set on the sleeve, but I've read so many people have issues with reflux - even if they've never had it before - that they've had to be revised to the bypass. I already deal with GERD & take 40 mg of Omeprazole daily, so I started studying about bypass and honestly, it seems like it might be the better choice for me. How can we discuss surgery options if the surgeon is not there?
What happened at your first consult? Trying to get an idea of what to expect, or maybe I should say, what NOT to expect.
