Hey everyone!! I'm yani and I'm 25 with 2 kids and I had my we've done June 5 2015. S.w was 268 and c.w. is 228. At first the sleeve diet was a bit challenging and I didn't like walking alot but after a while it gets better. I use my kids as weights lol which they seem to love me picking them up and being active with them. Just got to stay active , get your protien in, Vitamins, and Water, and eat healthy . It's a new and long journey and only positive things now should happen !!! Any questions about anything I'll be the gal to ask :)

Wow. 40 lbs in one month?! AMAZING! We are the same age too. :) I'm 2 months away from surgery and we are around the same starting weight (I'm currently 10 lbs heavier than you). How was your first month on liquids? Difficult? Any tips?

the first month is a bit tricky and hard ... your mind starts to play games with you. Just have to really commit and focus. Do not try to eat anything !! It will hurt and make you sick !! Set an alarm on your phone to remind you to drink because once you have the sleeve your body tends to make you feel like your not thirsty or hungry. Try to mix up your protien shakes and liquids around so you don't get bored of having the same kind all the time. The first two weeks for me was fustrating because my mind wanted to eat something but you just got to fight it. And remember to walk walk walk ... them gases from surgery are still in the body so walking helps.

I would like to know what questions you wish you had asked prior to your duodenal switch surgery?

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
