I was sleeved on July 10th and I am down 10 or 11 pounds. I feel like it should be more as I essentially am not eating-I probably average 300-500 calories as I am having a hard time getting Protein Shakes down due to fullness. I have been walking everyday sometimes 3-4 miles. Am I doing something wrong?

Nope. People lose at their own pace.

10 pounds down in 10 days is a pound a day. That's great. And it sounds like you are doing great with your calories and walking. I know it's hard getting your shakes and fluids in at first because everything is so swollen, but keep doing your best. You want to stay hydrated.

Keep plugging along and don't get discouraged. If you need to, stay off the scale for a while so it doesn't drive you crazy :)

@@Woodland4807 Part of your problem is your not eating, your body is in starvation mode it's extremely hard to lose in starvation mode. Everything is slowed down Your metabolism has probably all but stopped. Once you start eating it will adjust.

Just been waiting until time for my consult with my bariatric surgeon. It's scheduled for Jan 9th. Turns out I won't actually be seeing him. Apparently it'll be with his P.A.             Not sure what to expect. I thought this is where the surgeon would discuss the best surgery option for me. For years I had my heart set on the sleeve, but I've read so many people have issues with reflux - even if they've never had it before - that they've had to be revised to the bypass. I already deal with GERD & take 40 mg of Omeprazole daily, so I started studying about bypass and honestly, it seems like it might be the better choice for me. How can we discuss surgery options if the surgeon is not there?
What happened at your first consult? Trying to get an idea of what to expect, or maybe I should say, what NOT to expect.

I would like to know what questions you wish you had asked prior to your duodenal switch surgery?
