Low BMI before and after photos?

Recommended Posts

I'd like to see photos before and after of people who had gastric sleeve surgery. I'm male, 5'10 260lbs, and my goal weight is 160. I know it's still a lot of weight but I don't look overly fat so to speak, and I'm curious what kind of skin stretching, or anything you can fill me in about your experiences. My BMI is 36.

My surgery is in August.

Thanks everyone!

Thanks for sharing! This is really helpful. Do you find you have loose skin? Based on my body I'm assuming /hoping I won't have any loose skin. I think people have said that it firms up around a year in. Have you had lots of stalls? Thanks so much for sharing.

The face changes a lot!! I think the worst part of my body would be my arms! They do have some looseness to them that I HATE and my boobs shrunk, obviously not your issue...my stomach isn't "great" but I've lost 90+ lbs and have also had 3 c-sections so it was already shot. Hold on and I will add a picture of my stomach before and after,....

I don't recall having any real stalls but I also don't weigh that often so I wouldn't really know that for sure. I've noticed that when I do weigh now it's not as dramatic so now that I'm closer to goal I have to really work for it.

Elode:

Your pictures look really good. If the arms bother you the good news is it's really affordable to get an "arm lift" even in the most expenses areas of the US (Like $700 per arm). I know this because a family member had it done in northern california. I'm sure you don't need it, but keep it in mind if it's something that really bothers you.

I really do think the pictures look amazing. 8 months an almost to your goal weight!

Can I ask a few more silly questions?:

• In someone's youtube video she said he pee is very dark (almost brown) and smelly. Is this the case 8 months in? Or was this person just not drinking enough Water?

• Do you find now that it's been this long that you can eat a little more normally? Or will I still be eating a half cup of food for the rest of my life?

Thanks so much for sharing!

Hi everyone! I’m brand new here. I just went through all my pre-op requirements per my insurance company and now everything has been submitted and I’m just waiting for final approval and my surgery date. I’ve been doing research, watching YouTube videos, TikTok’s, ect.. trying to prepare my mind and what to expect so I’ll be ready for the surgery. I was so sure and so set and so ready and excited. However, now that I’ve done everything & it’s almost here, I am sooooooo scared! I know why I want it bc I’ve tried everything and I just don’t feel like I can lose weight by myself. I’m tired of being overweight my entire life. I’m miserable, but I keep psyching myself out afraid of GERD bc I know how that can be and I don’t want to have to get a bypass after already gaining the courage to even get VSG. I’m scared of complications like I’mgoing to regret doing it and be depressed that I didn’t just be more disciplined and try again to lose the weight on my own even sitting here typing this knowing in my mind i just can’t and don’t possess the discipline. I’m also afraid I won’t be able to handle the restrictions of the sleeve. What do I eat? I don’t know how to eat healthy really and don’t enjoy healthy food. I don’t know how to do this! I feel so defeated!Someone tell me they felt anything similar to this or am I not ready? I thought I was. I am so tired of being sick and tired and so tired of myself and so tired of being stuck and stuck in this body and somebody different on the outside from what I feel inside. I just want to ball up and cry.

Had a sleeve in 2017, lost over 100 pounds. Had a DS surgery this year (2025) for more sustainable weight loss. 🤞

The 14th was my day. I am home and recovery is going pretty smooth. They even let me walk out of the hospital. Picture of me in recovery curtesy of my boyfriend lol.
