It's been a month today

Recommended Posts

Today has been a month today since I had revision surgery. Surgery was easier than lap-band surgery in my opinion. I weighed 264.8 when I got home from surgery, and I weighed 242.2 this morning. That is 22.6 pounds in a month. I have went from 2x shirts to XL already. I am now at a stage where I can eat what I want but can't eat much at all. I have no problems eating and drinking but have trouble getting all my Protein in just eating. The weight came off fast for 2 weeks but is coming off pretty slow now. I don't like to really go out and eat now because I can't very much at all. Other than that it's coming off slowly. Been a good month but definitely a change in my way of life.

Congrats on your amazing success with the revision! I'm so happy you were able to get a new lease on life. And going from a 2X to an XL is stupendous!

Congrats! I'm so happy I had the revision too. Eating out is a whole different experience now! I've been out twice with my husband since my sleeve surgery and I just ate off his plate. At the first meal, I ordered an unsweet tea, totally forgetting I cannot sip and eat! What a waste. At least we'll save a little money by only ordering one meal and no drinks. :)

Congratulations...It's been about 6 weeks for me. I've become a cheap date...can't order my own

plate, no drinks. Saving money though!

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Anyone had the TORe procedure? How did it go? How much weight did you loose?

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
