scarlep 68 Posted July 21, 2015 Did you guys suffer from extreme back pain before surgery to the point where you can't be standing for more than 20 mins ? If so did it go away after surgery?

grandmaofone 411 Posted July 21, 2015 I had surgery to remove part of my L5/S1 in December of 2013, had problems with sitting and standing for long periods before surgery. I have lost a total of 41 lbs and have no problems with my back at all. It is a lot easier to move and get around with the extra weight putting strain on my back:) good luck to both of you as you start your journey!!!

naturegirl 320 Posted July 22, 2015 I have residual back problems due to a car accident in 2000, but slipped over winter and created new issues. What I noticed is that the weight I dropped in the weeks leading up to my pre-op diet, and during the Pre-op diet have helped the recent pain to diminish significantly. Hoping that some of the older pain will dissipate overtime as well due to the weight loss.
