Do you use PB2?

Recommended Posts

I'm pretty boring with my PB2, but I blend 1 tablespoon of it with my Syntrax chocolate Truffle Protein powder, 8 oz of Fairlife skim milk (13g Protein in that milk!), and ice. It makes an awesome Peanut Butter chocolate shake. I have it almost every morning!

*Edited because of my terrible grammar the first time around*

I out some in plain yogurt the other day with a little Protein Powder and some Sugar Free Chocolate Torani Syrup. It was pretty good! Otherwise yes I use it in my shakes occasionally. It's pretty strong. A little goes a long way

I've mixed it with my powders?utm_source=BariatricPal&utm_medium=Affiliate&utm_campaign=CommentLink" target="_ad" data-id="1" >unjury chocolate splendor and skim milk to change up the chocolate shake some - it was pretty good although the shake seemed to feel a little grainy in my mouth which it hadn't before. I bought the PB2 with the thought of making Unjury's version of Peanut Butter cups, but have not tried those yet.

I mix it into Protein shakes. I use almond milk, Protein Powder, frozen greek yogurt, and some PB2. Yummy!

I use it mostly in shakes and smoothies, but pre-op I used it in Thai curries in place of regular Peanut Butter, too. I'll go back to that as soon as I can eat things like Thai curries again...

I do like the PB2. I like it with the Jay Robb chocolate Protein powder and Mootopia (similar to fairlife milk, just our grocery store version). I wondered about it with a banana flavored shake too... There are directions for making an actual Peanut Butter out of it, but I have not tried that as yet.

I tried the chocolate shake with PB2 and a banana and I found that it was too sweet and it made me feel ill. I loved it before surgery but after my no sugar, no fat, no anything post surgery... it was not my best choice!

  • I mix it with Water then use that as a dip for apple slices

put it in my overnight oats mix done in the fridge with oats, chia seeds, low-fat plain yoghurt and cocoa sugar-free raspberry jam swirled through, or chopped peaches

It's also good in the avocado/cocoa powder mousse. Or even just chucked in to a Weight Watchers (or any other sugar-free mousse). If you want to boost the Protein, chuck in a couple of scoops of chocolate protein powder and a little extra milk.

I mix it up and eat it with a banana. Also mixed it up in the blender with a frozen banana and a little unsweetened almond milk. Tasted like ice cream. It was so very good!

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
