I am such a dork. I just accidentally of course swallowed a 1/4 of a piece of gum today. I am only 17 days after surgery. I can feel it. What do you recommend I do?

I am sure this sort of thing happens all the time- just ring your surgeon and fess up! The surgeon is the best person to give you advice ????
