Zoe - count me in!

Lisa - We have to have our own website! CrazyBitchMothers.com - my mother went to a psychiatrist for 4 YEARS! He was a well respected doctor in Dublin - my mother's favourite comment to us was: "my psychiatrist says this is all YOUR fault" - the hilarious (but tragic, but funny, but sad....) part was, eventually he told her not to come back - he couldn't help her and then RETIRED from medical practice AND LEFT THE COUNTRY!!! How we laughed...yet cried, yet......

Michelle - you are so right, of course. Unlike some people here, I NEVER lost much weight over the years - and would never ever have moved over 80lbs...I never thought of it like that. I am really confused about the 9cc band and am trying to find out which one I have - I know my friend Sarah, who was banded by the same guy, and has the same band etc - also is supposed to have the Inamed 9cc, filled to 4cc during surgery - and currently is at 7cc after two fills! So I don't know what to think! I'm busily trying to draft a letter in french to my surgeon so hopefully I'll have some answers soon - thanks Michelle - I have printed out your comments and will learn by heart!

This sounds much more like you may have the 11cm Vanguard by Inamed. the 9.75cc ONLY holds up to 4ccs. Let us know what you find out.

Zoe count me in for the Fat-O-Gram, Inc. I can advocate completely for someone else with no problems to the point of being a pest and getting answers and apologies. It is when it comes to my own advocating that I lose site. So we should make it a pre-requisite that every employee have a person they can call to advocate for them. LOL!!

Love you guys

Hi Bright,

Honey, I am so sorry I missed this post with my Cosmic sister in Ireland.! Please dont be depressed. It sounds like you need a good fill that will give you some restriction. It is true that Cookies, popcorn and cake will go right through the band even if you have restriction. And chips have replaced bread for me and I have to be ever so careful about not becoming a tortilla chip addict. SOunds like the Belgian doc was an arse. You need to talk to your banding surgeon to see if you can find someone who can fill you under flouoscopy. Without proper restriction, losing with the band can feel very much like dieting. I had a small unfill two weeks after a fill in August. I felt I was too tight. My doc removed more than what he had put in . So now, I am really struggling to get the last 20-25 pounds off and I am hungrier. I am going back to get more fill sometime this month. i dont want to obsess about food either and I certainly dont want to gain anything I have lost. I also had my girlfriend from Colorado living here in my house for the last two weeks. She eats enough to feed a small elephant and I have been living at the grocery store for the better part of two weeks. I have not made very smart food choices since she has been here and it has affected my weight loss. I even gained 4 pounds and it took me the second week she was here to realize that I didnt have to eat everything she did or keep up with her. I dropped the four pounds with much struggle the second week she was here. Hang in there, get another fill and know that you have done wonderfully over the last year. Your weight loss has been phenomenal and definitely above average my dear!!!

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Your so close now! It's gonna be great :) Wishing you a speedy recovery and looking forward to seeing how it goes!

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!

Hi everyone! I’m brand new here. I just went through all my pre-op requirements per my insurance company and now everything has been submitted and I’m just waiting for final approval and my surgery date. I’ve been doing research, watching YouTube videos, TikTok’s, ect.. trying to prepare my mind and what to expect so I’ll be ready for the surgery. I was so sure and so set and so ready and excited. However, now that I’ve done everything & it’s almost here, I am sooooooo scared! I know why I want it bc I’ve tried everything and I just don’t feel like I can lose weight by myself. I’m tired of being overweight my entire life. I’m miserable, but I keep psyching myself out afraid of GERD bc I know how that can be and I don’t want to have to get a bypass after already gaining the courage to even get VSG. I’m scared of complications like I’mgoing to regret doing it and be depressed that I didn’t just be more disciplined and try again to lose the weight on my own even sitting here typing this knowing in my mind i just can’t and don’t possess the discipline. I’m also afraid I won’t be able to handle the restrictions of the sleeve. What do I eat? I don’t know how to eat healthy really and don’t enjoy healthy food. I don’t know how to do this! I feel so defeated!Someone tell me they felt anything similar to this or am I not ready? I thought I was. I am so tired of being sick and tired and so tired of myself and so tired of being stuck and stuck in this body and somebody different on the outside from what I feel inside. I just want to ball up and cry.

Am feeling this right now. My surgery date is 4/1. Sign the consent tomorrow. I feel like I overloaded myself with too much info, too many opinions. Got to the point where I was wondering if I should do this. Then I thought of my reasons for taking this step and that settled my nerves. Still get moments of doubt but am striving forward. Am just going to follow my book from the surgeon. Joined this because I was told by my dietician that I should do this for support
