December 2015 or January 2016 sleevers ?

Recommended Posts

That is very true! I'm glad it's early enough in December that I will be able to enjoy Christmas with my family. My sister is due with my nephew on 1/31 and I was freaking out with my date being so close to her due date - this eliminates all of that angst as well :)

I'm sorry about your husband having to go :( Maybe see what they have for dates and then go from there and delay if you have to?

He doesn't want me to have it over the Holidays if possible because he wants me to enjoy them instead of recovering or being in pre-op. After all this time, I just want it to be over! :D I forgot about the Holiday, so wasn't able to talk to my case manager. I will see if I can get something in for the end of January, at least. He should be home. He might even be home after two weeks, but you never know with these things.

Just think of it. Your nephew will never know the current you. He'll always remember the cool, slender aunt he has so much fun with! It's really exciting.

I'm 21st December 5weeks away!! Can't wait!!

Lol wow, that is close when you say it like that! I'm scheduled for 12/16/15, which is the soonest they could get me in. Work picks up big time at the first of the year. It's a desk job, so I should be ready to jump in again before the crazy work gets out of control.

I'm not looking forward to the pre-op diet, but then again I sort of am.... Let's get this going!

I got all my tests in. The stress test was a breeze and I never ever walk walk ever! I once had that stress test where they shoot some thing in you and you just sit there. I passed out and threw up. Honestly,if you have a choice do the treadmill.

I've done all the other tests now and had the nutrition class. I'm not waiting on insurance. I'm waiting for my assistant(I'm a teacher) to come back from her knee surgery. I just cannot leave 44 behavior disordered students with two new people. That would be horrible for them and the substitutes. So,,, I just figured Jan. I go for my weigh in Dec 14th and set the date.I been doing low carb. and know I have lost.

My friend is getting her sleeve done December 1st. I just want to do this right! I'm glad to be part of this site.

That is SO exciting! I can't wait to be an awesome, energetic Auntie!

I'm sure everything will work out with the timing of your surgery - I know it's hard to wait, it's been exactly 5 years since my VSG journey began. I began research in Dec of 2010 and was 10 days away from having surgery in August of 2012 when the doc discovered I had blood clots in my leg and both lungs and I had to cancel my surgery. I'm just now well enough to go through with it. It sure has been a long time coming but it will be so worth it!

Oh wow Brianna,

That's what I call dedication. How did they find those clots?

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
